The Southwest Virginia AHEC has worked since 1993 to assess the specific health workforce needs of its communities and develop effective programs designed to meet those needs. Programs span the educational continuum - from developing middle and high school students' interest in health careers to supporting the clinical training of health professions students to providing for the eductational needs of health care practitioners in rural areas.
